Poem: Soldiers from the NOW

The poem I wrote about my struggle with living in the moment and feeling trapped by time.

Soldiers from the NOW
They march forever forward
These soldiers from the NOW
To please a cruel master
Who traps them in his power
They know they are eternal
And will survive without these laws
But something keeps them captive
Ever fighting for the cause
Clocks and commitments
Hold them steadfast in time’s grasp
Making plans for distant futures
Feeling mired in their past
Yet somewhere deep inside them
A silent moment draws them in
To their meaning and their purpose
And they must begin again
Breaking free of time’s illusion
The space within will show them how
To release their struggle gently
And surrender back to NOW.
